Watch President Dieter F. Uchtdorf share teachings from Romans 3:23-26.  He talks about how we have all sinned but by Gods's "grace through the redemption of Jesus Christ" we can become clean.

Personal Goals

"We won’t achieve our desires, either in development of talents or in life itself, by accident. While life will ultimately take us to our final destination, it is planning that helps determine whether that destination is the one we wanted. The right kinds of goals might make the difference." Our ward Relief Society presidency has challenged each of us to personally set two goals. 

A Spiritual goal and a Temporal goal.

A lesson for youth talks about some principles for setting goals :

  -  Setting worthwhile goals gives direction to our lives

- We should set goals in a number of different areas

- Managing our time gives us control over our lives so we can serve more effectively

 

A talk, given my President Monson provides great guidance for spiritual goals. He speaks of three goals to guide us through our lives.

1 - Study Diligently 2 - Pray Earnestly and 3 - Serve willingly.

A temporal goal can be anything from your job, your house, savings, getting our of dept, building up good storage, or planning a vacation. There are many area in our lives to think about when setting a temporal goal. It's not always about planting a garden or getting food storage ;)

 

Visiting Teaching

”Sister Eliza R. Snow, the second Relief Society general president, taught: 'I consider the office of a teacher a high and holy office.' … Sister Snow hoped that sisters would 'perceive a difference in their houses' after a visit. She counseled visiting teachers to prepare themselves spiritually before they visited homes so they would be able to ascertain and meet spiritual needs as well as temporal ones: 'A teacher … should surely have so much of the Spirit of the Lord, as she enters a house to know what spirit she meets in there. … Plead before God and the Holy Ghost to get [the Spirit] so that you will be able to meet that spirit that prevails in that house … and you may feel to talk words of peace and comfort, and if you find a sister feeling cold, take her to your heart as you would a child to your bosom and warm [her] up' ” (Daughters in My Kingdom, page 108)

How Visiting Teachers Love, Watch Over, and Strengthen a Sister

• Pray daily for her and her family.
• Seek inspiration to know her and her family.
• Visit her regularly to learn how she is doing and to comfort and strengthen her.
• Stay in frequent contact through visits, phone calls, letters, e-mail, text messages, and simple acts of kindness.
• Greet her at Church meetings.
• Help her when she has an emergency, illness, or other urgent need.
• Teach her the gospel from the scriptures and the visiting teaching messages.
• Inspire her by setting a good example.
• Report to a Relief Society leader about their service and the sister’s spiritual and temporal well-being. (See Daughters in My Kingdom, page 123.)
